New Zealand is a stunning country where most of the main sights can be seen in a 2-3 week tour. It can be easily combined with a stopover in Fiji and/or Vancouver/LA.
The Maori traditions are a fascinating aspect of a tour to New Zealand and sporting competition is fierce and intense. The country has some of the most spectacular scenery in the world such as Milford Sound, the hot geothermal pools of Rotorua and the beautiful Abel Tasman & Bay of Islands and Tongariro National Park. It is a perfect place not only for a sports tour but also for geography, music and bell ringers! The bell ringing scene in New Zealand is active and enthusiastic and we have arranged a tour to ring the bells in various church towers across New Zealand followed by dinner and a few glasses of local wine with your ‘hosts’.
New Zealand is known as the adrenaline capital of the world and there are a number of exciting activities to try such as bungy jumping, swoop, zorb, jet boating, black water tubing, rafting and schweeb. These can be found either in queenstown on the South Island or in and around Rotorua on the North Island.
A visit to a traditional Maori Village is an interesting and rewarding experience and you will be invited to join in the celebrations at a typical Hangi dinner.
Along the coast to the north of Christchurch you can see seals basking in the sun from the roadside and take a special Whale Watch cruise from Kaikoura. Also in this area you can bathe in the hot springs at Hanmer and then head further north to the wine area around Nelson. Taking the ferry from Picton to Wellington is quick and easy and in Wellington you must visit the Te Papa Museum which has a fascinating section on immigration to New Zealand.
In Palmerston North is the Adidas Institute where we can arrange some specialist rugby coaching for you before you head up to Rotorua to visit the amazing geothermal pools at Wai-O-Tapu or Whakarewarewa.
Finishing your tour in Auckland you can visit the Auckland Museum which tells the story of New Zealand. Harbour Bridge Climb, boat trips to dormant volcanoes and trips to seaside resorts such as Hot Water beach will complete your tour.
